Chelsea international fine art competition coming soon!

Agora Gallery has been sponsoring international art competitions since 1984. The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is one of the most anticipated events of the year in New York City, in most recent years, the competition was juried by curators from the Guggenheim Museum, the Brooklyn Museum and the Chelsea Art Museum.

The competition will open February 7, 2007!
Submission deadline is March 8, 2007!

The juror this year is Tina Kukielski, senior curatorial assistant at the Whitney Museum, New York City. Ms. Kukielski has recently curated The New City : Sub/urbia in Recent Photography (2005-06). She is currently authoring the artist chronology for the Matta-Clark exhibition catalogue and is organizing the forthcoming retrospective of the work of Gordon Matta-Clark (2007).

CALL FOR ENTRY: COLORADO ART TEACHER SHOW
Presented by Lapis Gallery
Lapis Gallery is looking for Art Teachers to showcase in the 4th Annual Colorado Art Teacher Show. Teachers at all levels encouraged to apply. The entry is free. Artist can enter up to 5 works of art. All work must be for sale at 60/40 galleries split (Artist 60%, Gallery 40%). Each entry must have a photograph of the work (digital or print). Entries can be e-mailed or mailed to Lapis Gallery. Artist will be accepted as entries are received till the show is full.
All entries are due at Lapis by January 15.
Accepted work must be at Lapis Gallery by January 29.

Core New Art has some calls for entries coming up: The WOW Show's deadline is March 2 (?) for a show running March 9- 23. The Red Show's deadline is May 4, and is showing May 11-25.

I know this sounds odd, but it looks like a good opportunity... The Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community hosts an annual juried exhibition.
